Laibach
10/07/2007
So that the food obsession plaguing this blog as per Adriaan may be extended to drinks as well 🙂 let me share this pic I took at an Austrian store yesterday. It seems that one has to go to Austria to find out that at least according to the selection of this large store chain, one of the finest South African wines is the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon produced by… ahem… Laibach.
OK so which of my Non-Slovenian blogging friends know what Laibach is when not in reference to the music group? Stop that google-friendly finger right now!!! 🙂

OK, without reference to Google (or any other site!), isn’t Laibach the Austrian name for Ljubljana?
Or am I just showing my total ignorance again?

@adriaan: Of course you’re right 🙂
@dr. filomena: A marvelous choice of video. I do so love the way Laibach make fun of the lingering totalitarism in this country 🙂

I just found the wine producer’s website (Laibach Wines) and realized that part of the land was in the possession of the du Plessis family for 99 years. I wonder if Prieur might know something about this! He writes the Investment Postcards from Cape Town blog.

That version of ‘Life is Life’ can be found on 33’s computer. Guess who put it there. 😛 I should have remembered to play it when you were here!
