Well, it looks I am NOT going to vote anyway. Not because I don't want to, but because I can't. You know, I don't quite get it, but the thing is like this. Since I currently live in Tokyo, I asked the Slovene embassy how can I cast my vote this time. Since I made a mistake, and did not report my moving to another country at the local municipal office in Ljubljana, they didn't put me on the list they send to the embassys for residents living abroad. But the embassy said, well, you won't get your ballot by mail, but you can easily come to the embassy on the election day and cast your vote. Well, couple of days ago, they informed me that unfortunately I can't vote, because the deadline for informing the voting comitee in Slovenia was by October 27. Missed my chance! How about me? By not casting a vote, you are -mathematically speaking- voting for a candidate you would not have voted for in the first place. Under Slovene election law only valid votes are included in the 100% the final result is calculated from. Hear, hear!

V našem lokalnem časopisu (Občinske novice) sem lani okarala tiste sokrajane, ki se niso udeležili lokalnih volitev (presenetljivo majhna udeležba)... upam, da bom po nedeljskih predsedniških volitvah lahko prispevala pohvalo v naših novicah. Bom raje v slovenskem jeziku, da ga ne pobiksam preveč:
