A Walk Through Koper
12/20/2007
Just a few random photos from a walk through Koper. Although Ljubljana is naturally the best town on the face of Earth, it does sometimes get slightly too sunshineless for me. Resourceful is dr. Fil’s middle name, so a less-than-one-hour drive to Slovenian Adriatic coast, for example, takes care of that problem.
Some say there is something rotten in the city and I definitely do not support the idea of selling the port, but when I’m there, strolling up and down the cozy streets with my Grandmother who lived there for years and has many stories to tell about the days long gone by, all those troublesome details fade away (until Ljubljana fog brings them back into focus, that is).

@Adriaan: Yep! I’ll tag along 🙂
@PoslovniUtrip: We took Koper pics with just a few days in between!
@blogar: My association: Justice in Koper is struggling to keep the balance 🙂
@Pengovsky: Must be a consipracy – they all hid when I was taking the pics??

Mr. Popo took them 🙂
I was born in Koper but I never liked it very much.. It was more a place for shopping as there were more shops as in Izola and of course a place for parties. Now I guess they have less visitors form the town nearby.

Lovely photos, Dr Fil
Being from the new world I’ve never walked in narrow streets like those though we do have some old towns near the other coast. Everything’s far too new and automobile conscious here. We do still have pedestrian access to shopping malls though.
Love that bizarre statue guy in the last photo.

Beautiful pictures!
How are you feeling now that Slovenia joined Schengen and there is no need to show passports to cross Slovenian borders?
Have a great holiday season!

Me uspe navdušiti nad nekaterimi stvarmi, ki jih včasih čisto ponesreči prezrem.
Lep dan,
Nevenka
